| Leading Pitch One Of West Face | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Shirley leading pitch one of West Face of Dark Angel. She is starting the 5.9 fingers section (crux of pitch). Her foot slipped off a sandy hold (they're all sandy in Arches) and she took a small fall onto the ledge messing up her heel in the process (Feb. 18, 2006).

Hasn't voted | No, just a big bruise (black and blue heel). OK to stand in aiders and with approach shoes on but painful for rock shoes. | | Posted Feb 23, 2006 11:07 pm |

Hasn't voted | I got my question to you about her lead, answered here. Remember when i decked at JTree and posted to SP about. I can relate on the foot thing hurting. Heck, it;s been 2 years since that accident and my ankle will never be the same. Still tender....and stiff on cold days. | | Posted Feb 24, 2006 4:51 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hi Dave,
I remember your adventure. Yeah, the price of climbing I guess (various body aches to remind one of the outings & adventures :)
Shirley's black/blue heel effect is almost gone but we'll probably stick to aiders for one more weekend.
Thanks for visiting and hope your recovery will be 100% soon. Take care
