Almost 25 miles from any sign of civilization, save for an old barbed wire fence, we paused to take in the spectacular views of Cathedral Valley next to these Entrada Sandstone Monoliths, the dominant feature in the northern district of Capitol Reef National Park. From this road, a series of hikes can be executed, some of which are now featured on SP. Fall, 2005.
