The South Desert as seen from an overlook along the Hartnet Road in Capitol Reef's northern district. This barren wilderness sees few visitors and offers some of Capitol Reef's most challenging outings. It's hard to beat for total isolation. This view looks soth to the Henry Mountains, the highest summit being Mount Ellen. Fall, 2005.
