Bentonite Hills & Factory Butte [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Bentonite Hills & Factory Butte
Within the weird landscape of the Bentonite Hills, we look eastward to see the distant Factory Butte on the horizon, roughly 20 miles away. The Bentonite Hills are located along the Hartnet Road, just east of Capitol Reef National Park. The Hartnet Road winds through the north district of Capitol Reef in a loop for 60 spectacular miles. The road begins near Factory Butte in a little town called Caineville, and ends just east of the Park. Both ends are on Highway 24 in south central Utah, which goes through some of the most dynamic and stunning desert scenery in the world, with endless possibilities for hiking and climbing. Fall, 2005.
