Fremont River 4WD Crossing [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Fremont River 4WD Crossing
When accessing activities in the northern district of Capitol Reef National Park, a 4WD vehicle is essential. If the Hartnet Road is wet, 4WD would be helpful, but regardless of the road's condition, this crossing must be executed unless one wishes to retrace up to 60 miles of 4WD desert terrain. This crossing is usually only a foot deep, but could be considerably deeper and hazardous after a significant storm or weather event. Be sure to check on conditions and do your research before proceeding. Under normal conditions, this crossing poses no significant hazard. Fall, 2005.
