Cassidy Arch [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cassidy Arch
Cassidy Arch is among the most spectacular attractions at Capitol Reef National Park. Ellen was included in this shot for scale, but this is truly a magnificent and beautiful place. The arch is reached either via the Frying Pan Trail (a 9 mile hike) or from Capitol Wash (a 6 mile hike), or via a 7 mile shuttle hike. The routes run along exposed ledges with dramatic views around every bend. This is a fun and fantastic area! Famous outlaw Butch Cassidy and his gang reportedly hid out nearby in Capitol Wash. Fall, 2002.
