Upper Muley Twist Canyon [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Upper Muley Twist Canyon
This is the terrain you climb out of the canyon to begin the looped section of the route. You exit the canyon on steep, packed red dirt, and then traverse slick rock above a narrow grotto. Keep an eye out for cairns leading out of the canyon on your right. If you enter a section of tall impassable narrows, you've gone too far up the canyon. Some fun scrambling on ledges and through trees will eventually get you out of the canyon and on top of the Reef itself. Upper Muley Twist Canyon, Capitol Reef National Park, Fall, 2005.
