Upper Muley Twist Canyon [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Upper Muley Twist Canyon
UPPER MULEY TWIST CANYON ROUTE
CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK

BLUE: Canyon Portion
RED: Reef Crest Portion and Strike Valley Overlook Trail
BLACK: 4WD road
9 miles, 800 feet gain

Arches galore on the west side of the canyon, a fun ridge walk with awesome views on the east side along the crest of Capitol Reef. This hike is located in nowhere, so make sure your vehicle is dependable and has 4WD capability (or you can add another 6 miles to the total distance). If you do not get up on the Reef and just do the Canyon, be sure to visit the Strike Valley Overlook, 1/4 mile from the trailhead. It's worth it!
