Potosi Peak at dawn from the...
Potosi Peak at dawn from the lower Imogene Basin area. A prescribed route comes from around the left side of the summit block, along the base of the summit block and then up the couloir on the right side of the summit block. Approach possibilities are up the left ridge skyline and from the ridge connecting to Coffee Pot and Tea Kettle mountains. Rated Class 2+, Potosi is nonetheless a loose and dangerous mountain. Experience in loose San Juan rock climbing highly recommended. Summer, 1978.
