| Ahern Peak | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This is Ahern Peak (8749'), with Ahern Glacier to the right. Ahern Pass is out of the image (but close) to the left. Contrary to what might be assumed from the perspective here, it is an easy walk-up from the unseen pass to summit. Photo by Vernon, July 20, 2005.

I slid down the Ahern drift, crashed and rolled into rocks and was lucky to have escaped with a few gashes. This year, the snow will as be daunting. CRAMPONs and ice axe next time! | | Posted May 15, 2009 10:24 pm |

Thanks for the comments. | | Posted May 16, 2009 10:23 pm |
