Mount Merritt

Mount Merritt

This is the unforgettable east face of Mount Merritt as the glaciers left it. Merritt is 10004', the snow field at the bottom of the image is 5525', the creek bed 5100'. Old Sun Glacier, still active, on the right, the unclimbed spires of the Lithoid Cusp are on the left.

Wow!

So the face is 4500 ft high, presumably the green down in the valleys are large trees and no one has dared to climb the lithoid spire because the rock is terrible?

Re: First Ascent

Blake, I think we can safely assume jtsmob85 doesn't have a clue. He registered, made this one "troublemaker" post, then hasn't returned since. Goodbye to him, and good riddance...!

Re: First Ascent

i wholeheartedly agree. So it is still unclimbed! Not like I am planning to accomplish that. We are however planning to do Stimson and Cleveland this year.
