The Pamir e Tang trail is a rugged route taken between Shimshal village and the the summer settlements of Shuwert and Shuizherav in the Shimshal Pamir. The trail frequently climbs high then drops low, remaining too trecherous for yak to be taken via. Shimshalis hope one day that they will be able to take their livestock via this route instead of the Uween-e-Sar (4650m) and Shachmirk (4560m) passes.
