Irvine with Mallory and Expedition [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Irvine with Mallory and Expedition
The 1924 British Expedition to Everest

George Leigh Mallory (second from the left on the back row) was the man who said, "Because it's there!" when asked why he wanted to climb Everest. But he also called Everest, "The struggle of life itself, upwards and forever upwards!" Note the harris tweed jackets and scarfs.
