Some great views are available from this spot but of most interest to us was the next objective, So. Tent Peak which can be seen across the valley from where this picture was taken. Notice how the benchmark has an 'X' formed in some burlap fabric. Our guess is that this was some type of navigation aid used by small aircraft.
