I have tried it twice - on this trip, we camped for 5 days on the Dome in a storm. When we finally decided to call it quits, we had to descend through the ice fall in near whiteout conditions. My second attempt ended as we were approaching the hut on the normal route and watched a giant avalanche sweep the route........
