Woodland Caribou [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Woodland Caribou
The woodland caribou is probably the rarest large mammal in the United States, being limited to the Selkirk Mountains in the vicinity of the Idaho/Washington/British Columbia border. Its not clear how many there are, but its certainly below 100 and some estimates are as low as 30 animals. Copyright: Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, University of Washington, Seattle.
