Voted 9/10 | My friend Joyce (from Oregon) tells me there is also considerable difference in the pronunciation of her name. The way I heard it originally , the emphasis was on the 2nd syllable (ca), and a hard "g" but Joyce pronounces it with the emphasis on the second last syllable (we)and a soft "G" (like "j"). Hasn't voted | They did mint a coin, the only dollar coin in the US. I have also heard the different pronuciations. For example, my family in ND, says "Sa-cock-a-wea" whereas I have heard, and say "Sac-a-ja-wea".
