Reaching the narrow Forcella di Riofreddo (notch) a shining world towards south and west opens. On the other side of Val Rio del Lago / Jezerska dolina there's the Kanin massif. This is its central part from Lopa to Visoki Kanin / Monte Canin. Here we can see how huge the massif is. The plateau lies some 1500m above the valley and summits are rising only some 300m above it.
