Dow-I'm curious-did this avalanche, given the steep angle of descent, make much noise?

tons, actually about 6 booming drops while I was leading one pitch....just kept coming, blowing ice cold snow on top of us, would go from warm to cold to warm as they would blow by us, etc. Not enough volume to reach the terrain trap below that we had ascended, but enough noise to get in your head space...I am adding the route in a bit and will try and sequence these photos, cheers

Thanks Richard. You have to climb over a 1000' of WI 3 just to get to this curtain of WI 3- 6, going through a terrain trap that has claimed a few comrades. Keeps this stash fresh. Cheers.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
