The approach up Rock Creek to...
The approach up Rock Creek to the south saddle on Mount Oso is shown in red, and the route is the unclimbed portion to the summit. The climb was abandoned due to high winds on the exposed ridge. Base camp (1) was the start of the attempt on a good trail over the pass above Rock Lake to the unnamed basin (2) that led to a traverse of a steep and loose talus slope and ascent of a snow patch to the saddle (3). Note the rugged complexity of the Oso Massif.
