Cryptobiotic Crust [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cryptobiotic Crust
Ellen stands between two massive colonies of cryptobiotic soil in the Needles. This soil is alive with microscopic organisms that form colonies and help hold the desert soils together, preventing erosion. Be sure to place your footsteps carefully when stepping off-trail anywhere in the desert country to prevent damaging this delicate crust.

Thanks Radek. Yeak, that is some of the largest and healthiest crypto I've seen anywhere. Thanks for stopping by the pages.
