foreverwild on Sweat [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
foreverwild on Sweat
SP member and new Texas resident foreverwild on "Sweat" (5.7 trad)at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, TX on June 10, 2006. This route is located on the backside of Enchanted Rock using the blue trail.

Bring two size 4 cams to get this route started which is also the crux, although the entire route is sustained 5.7 which makes this lead more difficult than its rating would lead you to believe, no pun intended. Hang your gear on the right side of your harness! Bring a selection of nuts for the upper portion of this crack as it gets narrower and shallower. There are rap bolts at the top of the route to the left of the tree.

I led it. I had a #4 cam and a 3.5. I used the #4 but the 3.5 was too small. I placed it anyway and it came out as I expected so basically it is run out until the crack got small enough for smaller cams. Basically the theme was not to fall until the crack became small enough for the 3.5 or smaller cams. The top portion of the crack was good for nuts. It was pretty fun and definitely sweaty hanging on in the hot sun trying to figure out which piece to place while in an akward position.
