Cliffs South of Los Cerros [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cliffs South of Los Cerros
This picture doesn't have much to do with Cerro de Santa Clara, but is more of a introduction into the other desert landforms in the area. Sixty foot high sandstone cliffs border the arroyos and other dry water channels in the Rio Puerco Valley. The Rio Puerco (dry at this time) flows to the left of the sandstone cliffs in the photo. Cerrito Cochino is in the distance on the near side of Mesa Prieta. This picture was taken from a couple miles south of Cerro de Santa Clara on June 14, 2006.
