If you followed my recommendation on the approach, you will find yourself standing more or less where this photo was taken. The most direct route contours straight across below the seracs. A more conservative approach would be to descend the slope in the foreground until you are below the dirty broken area, then loop around the other side. It isn't obvious from this angle, but there is a smooth sort of gully between the dirty mess in the foreground, and the broken area beyond. June 24, 2006.
