..that's good one Klenke! Where are Uruk Hai? This is such a beautiful area but what amazes me the most is that there are trees and forest at 3700m and above!!! Here forest ends between 1400 and 1600m.

	Hasn't voted	Thanks for your comment. This is a view from the Fattening Sheep Plateau. Around the Pomiu (Four Girls Mountains) is 31 degrees of north latitude. There are conifer woods above 4000 m sea level. There are many larches and they change color in middle October. In the village above 3200 m sea level, the flower of the apple blooms.

	Hasn't voted	Hello Kenzo, My wife Yuko is from Tokyo and now I can always tell if a name is Japanese or not! I know kawa/gawa means river but I'm not sure about Okawa. I have actually only been to Japan twice so far but will be going back this December. Yuko and I are going to celebrate her Obaasan's 100 year birthday in Miyagi. I want to add a mountain to the Japan page- there are only 3 listed!! Thats hard to believe with all the mountains and mountaineers in Japan. Maybe I'll add Mount Zao with its ice monsters! Do you get back to Japan often? Have fun and keep submitting the beautiful photos. Jason

I completely share your feelings about the mountains in Japan. I went to many mountains in Japan when I was young, but I did not take many photos in those days. I have plan what ask to many Japanese mountaineers to add mountains in SP. But not put my idea into action yet, because I am so busy. I expect you to add Mount Zao, and several Japanese mountaineers add wounderful photos in your page. Keep in touch. Kenzo

Okawa-san no shashin wa shinjirarenai ~ sugoku kirei desu yo, kampeki! What is your secret? I have recently taken up photography, so am attempting to learn the technical basics, and am enjoying it, but I am in wonder at the phenomenal results you are capable of. May I ask what camera and film (if the camera is not a digital) you use, and what editing software and printing equipment you employ? Your photographs are consistently staggering; you are certainly one of the greatest mountain photographers I've ever come across. I am sure you are tired of hearing such compliments, but that is your punishment for possessing such disproportionate ability! And lastly, are there any simple but fundamental tips you might give an amateur photographer like myself, in order to better my photography?

	Hasn't voted	Thanks for your visit, Maine! In generary, "find the place and the time " is most inportant matters to take nice photo. After find that, you shuld be wait for the wether condition which you like. I used PENTAX67 and RDP3-100F for publishing. But, if you take photo to your own hobby, these are not important conditon. Small digital-camera is enough for you. I am looking foward to your nice photos.
