Adams basin [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Adams basin
Amy hikes the incredible basin at 12,500' below Mt. Adams West Ridge. Challenger Point and the Carsons dominate the view. The Crestones are just peaking over the far ridge to the left. Willow Lake lies in the valley below. July 16, 2006.

Is it feasible to base camp here or is it too steep or too exposed?

Oh yeah! Beautiful meadow with lots of potential campsites. It's a bit fragile, so I wouldn't recommend it as a real popular campsite, but the fact that it isn't on the way to a 14er and has a pretty stiff climb to get there would probably keep the masses out.

Thanks for the info. I may try it with a friend from out of State in August and do the tour of Adams and it's other ranked neighbors.
