Believe it or not folks, this is what Mt. Hood looked like at 1pm on 5-24-03. The weather really closed in on the mountain and so I'm glad i wasn't still up there. A report posted on another group today mentioned that he had climbed it on the 24th and the 25th and that during the afternoon or evening of the 24th, a big wet slide changed everything up there and had wiped all the snow off leaving just ice (french technique) and opened the bergscrund up by another 18-20 feet. Things can change rapidly sometimes. It did here.
