lcarreauHello ...

Voted 10/10

I'm looking for more information on the City
of Rocks. Could you please describe for me the
composition and type of rocks we are seeing in
this photo, as I have never visited this area.

Is this mainly limestone, or white granite???

Well, I'm no geologist, but, according to the guide I have, the rocks are mostly white granite. There are however, a couple of formations that are made up of darker granite called the Green River Complex. The color of the rocks remind me of the granite you see in Little Cottonwood Canyon, east of Salt Lake City. You need to get up there. Keep in mind though, it is becoming extremely popular, and if you plan on camping, make sure you get a reservation well before you go. Hope this helped.
