| Spearhead's North Ridge Route | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
The north ridge of Spearhead seen from the summit of Arrowhead. The annotations describe notable features (e.g., Barb Flake) and the belay stances we used in our ascent. With a 70 m rope, we combined the first three pitches into two. We then scrambled up the easy middle section (class 3), and then climbed another four pitches to reach the shoulder under the summit. See Andy's trip report for the details. Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, July 2006. (Photo taken in August 2005.)

Hasn't voted | Thanks, Radek! Spearhead has many great routes. The north ridge is an excellent moderate, but the northeast face has stuff in the 5.9-5.12 range that you may find interesting. | | Posted Aug 4, 2006 5:41 pm |
