High Dune Hike [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
High Dune Hike

Starting first thing in the morning, before the sun had cleared the mountains, my son Curtis heads up towards the summit of High Dune in Great Sand Dunes National Park, CO. Although the dune is only about 650-feet above the starting terrain, it's a tough hike in loose sand, a battle every step of the way. The flow of the sand with each step is almost mesmirizing. Imaged in August 2006.
