Fascinating color contrasts between lichens and a rock along the North Vista Trail of the Black Canyon of the Gunnision, CO. That's the canyon in the background, of course. The point on this side of the canyon rim that juts into the image slightly high and center is Exclamation Point. Imaged in August 2006.

So, I told my son (Curtis) to keep on heading towards the top while I went back and set up to shoot this picture.
