View from the Dune Field [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
View from the Dune Field

Early morning view of the Sangre De Cristos facing southeast from the dune field in Great Sand Dunes National Park, CO. This image was taken about half-way up the hike to the summit of High Dune. I believe that the near peak on the left is Carbonate Mountain (12,308'), and the more distant one on the right is California Peak (13,849'). There are several 14er's back there, but I'm uncertain if I was high enough and the image is wide enough to have captured them. I'd appreciate any help in correctly identifying all the peaks! :-) Imaged in August 2006.
