One of the first views of the peaks. After climbing up a 1000 feet the peak shows its presences. The trail follows the ridge on the left (not shown) then traverses across the east face right at timberline. Then makes its way to the saddle on the right of this image. After this point the trail becomes hard to follow. Go up the ridge that is going down Rio Grande’s east face or the ridge coming toward where this image is taken is the easy route to the summit. The final 1000 feet is all on talus and some loose undesirable scree, all class II with some minor hand work involved.
