Rising Wolf's south face....
Heading up the south face to the open spaces above. This is a good indicator of what much of the upper reaches of the mountain are like. Still a long way to go—the summit is a considerable distance out of sight on the left. Photo by Vernon, July 19, 2005.

The black rocks mentioned in the description of Rising Wolf's South Face Route are pictured here in the upper right hand corner. Bush climbing and bushwhacking are abundant below this feature. Reach the bottom of these rocks and then climb to the right to get above them.
