Fording South Fork of the Flathead River [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Fording South Fork of the Flathead River
Extended trips into the Bob Marshall are often done on horseback supported by pack string. Here a pack string fords the South Fork of the Flathead River at Black Bear Creek.

FlatheadNativeGreat shot

Voted 10/10

My Grandfather crossed this same area with his packstring for over 25 years as he guided in the Black Bear Creek area.

He was known as thw "short-string packer" as his pack string was rarely over 8 horses long.

I really wonder if this is isn't him?

Thanks for the memory!

Was this photo taken in July or sumbitted then?
