This is a view of absolute wilderness seen from the head of the Jackson Glacier at 7853' on the Continental Divide. The lighting was wrong, but the scene was too wildly beautiful to pass on photographing. The glacier on the right is the Harrison Glacier; the horn-like peak is Walton Mountain. There are no trails crossing the terrain this view covers. It is a long story how I got to this spot, where I never planned on being, but once I was there, only the urgency of finding my missing hiking partner could compel me to leave.
