Myron Avery Plaque, Avery Peak
A plaque dedicated to Myron H. Avery is located just below the summit of Avery Peak. Myron Avery was instrumental in the planning and development of the Appalachian Trail in the early stages of its existence. The body of water is Flagstaff Lake.

A great depiction of a great mountain! I think I can even see the tinest hint of fall foliage around Flagstaff Lake. I've been enjoying your other photos as well. Cheers.

Thanks! I love the mountains of western Maine. Rugged but accesible, with great little New England towns interspersed between them.
