Dreilaenderspitze (3197m) [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Dreilaenderspitze (3197m)
Dreilaenderspitze seen from NW with Vermunt glacier. The picture was taken on July 30th 2006 and shows the situation with nowerdays melting glacier. At "1" is the point where the ridge used to be entered, but this has become dangerous and difficult because of pure ice, loose rocks and stonefall. At "2" we could enter the ridge now where it is much more difficult and where we had to abandon the climb. So the advise is to climb the mountain only as long as the flank is filled with snow, what should be the case until the beginning of June.
Please compare with this picture of 1987.
