Mont Blanc & Aiguille Verte [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Mont Blanc & Aiguille Verte
Amazing shot of climbers reaching summit of Aiguille Verte (4122m) with Mont Blanc (4810m) in the background. Postcard Mythra edition.

I bought this postcard in Chamonix and thought to show it to those who will never make it there. I'm against posting the shots which are not mine but this one is so great that after over a year of doubt I finally couldn't resist to share.

Craig Peerno problem

I see no problem as you don't claim this to be your photo and give full credit. This summit via the Whymper Couloir is one of my few must do climbs I'd like to try in the Alps, so thanks. Perhaps someday I will step right there too!

You welcome Craig! I share the same desire, to stand there some day and this fantastic shot is perfect temptation.

I actually have this picture in poster format hanging above my computer! Mythra has lots of great posters, I always buy a few when I'm in france :)

yes rbi, their shots are amazing. I bought dozens of their postcards and I admire how they are always on the right place at the right time. If I was this poster somewhere it would be hanging above my comp too.

You can actually post-order stuff at the mythra website: www.mythra.fr, but you'd probably have to arrange your order by email if you're not in france. If you want I can look up the poster number of this particular shot (I'd have to tear the poster off the wall, and I don't want to do that unless someone really wants to know the number :-)...

I saw this post card four years ago in Chamonix, and from then climbing on the aiguille Verte has been an ambition - I am off to chamonix next week to do it...

I think that it is fine to post things like this as you have given the owner credit.

Good luck Peter on Verte, I hope you'll reach the summit!! Generally I don't post stuff that is not mine, so far only 2 postcards, but this shot is so good it would be crime that others could not see it and I don't think any of us here on SP will ever be in position to take such shot of Verte :-)

Here's one of the Whymper Couloir - it links to the rest - there are about 4 or 5.
