My navigational error had me thinking the summit on the left was Little Giant, but this was not the case. The summit is to the right, just out of view. From this angle, it is easy to be fooled. So, we climbed toward what we thought was the summit on steep, Class 4 San Juan rock above the tailings near the center of the photo. The tailings are dangerous and should be avoided. The Dives Basin route on SP avoids the hazardous areas in Dives Basin.
