The larches show off their golden plume on this fine September day. Above and beyond is Mount Sparrowhawk. The trail descends into the cirque and up the draw to the notch beneath Read's Tower, looming on the right.

I really enjoyed the area, so much so that a couple of weeks later I hiked along nearby Red Ridge and down into the Sparrowhawk Tarns.
