Nice shot Aaron. There certainly is a lot more snow up there than I saw 2 years ago. Do you were insulated boots, or just go with the light hikers?

Martin-

I wear heavy duty Raichle hiking boots. They seem to handle just about anything. I've been in Raichles for years now. They hold up well. With gaiters on such a climb, my feet stay warm and dry with no problems. These boots have a high ankle support, which is very essential for my old bones!

The plentiful snow is from our late spring dumps, which literally saved Colorado from the worst drought in recorded history. But the snow came late. It did not set up, there was no base and it wasn't the greatest for climbing. Massive had more snow than any other Sawatch peak along the valley, and it was pretty decent for us that day. Eileen loved it. We glissaded down the amphitheatre and dropped 2,000 feet in about 20 minutes. Nice!
