I was just about at the saddle at this time and quickly turned back to Catherine Lake when the clouds poured between Ritter and Banner.

Smart decision :)

We barely escaped from the summit of Lyell but still got into the hailstorm on the way down.

You should come back and climb Banner again. It is a fantastic mountain. Try it from the East side (Lake Ediza), it is quite exciting towards the top of the chute below the saddle
