St. Paddee's Day [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
St. Paddee's Day
Shirley near the top of St. Paddee's Day on Star Wall in the Lower Gorge. Nice, varied but short 10a crack. Obvious wide section topped off by an off-fingers bulge is the crux IMHO. Crack immediately on left is Turning Point (5.10a; Oct. 15, 2006).

Thank you Chief!
Yeah, this is a relatively low quality line but you're right - most "classics" in SMith's Gorge are stem-boxes with cracks of various sizes.

THE classic stem box at Smith: Pure Palm 5.11a - no cracks at all (hence bolts).

It's called "basalt" - volcanic in origin but beyond that you'll need a geologist :)
Thanks for the visit.
