Folded and Faulted Marble Rock [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Folded and Faulted Marble Rock
This is one of the most beautifully intricate rocks I have ever seen! It is alongside Hwy 180 near Boyden Cave in Kings Canyon National Park, CA

The marble almost looks like lace agate.

Thanks! It is an incredible chunk of rock, about 15 feet tall and 20 feet wide.

Thank you as well for putting this in the Rocks, Minerals, and Fossils album. Great pic. Crazy what a little heat and pressure can do to limestone!

"I am in love with this world. I have nestled lovingly in it. I have climbed its mountains, roamed its forests, sailed its waters, crossed its deserts, felt the sting of its frosts, the oppression of its heats, the drench of its rains, the fury of its winds, and always have beauty and joy waited upon my goings and comings."   --John Burroughs
