Shirley leading Conversion Excursion (5.10a) on Catwalk Cliff in Smith's Lower Gorge. It seemed to me that crux was getting into this open book. This was Shirley's first 5.10a onsight (Oct. 22, 2006).

onsight lead at a grade that Shirley still has respect for = very conservative rack. | | Posted Oct 23, 2006 10:20 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Yep, we'll be rolling in there late Thursday and heading out Sunday at dark. Forecast is looking good so far.
I was guessing you guys were going for Dark Rhythm again. Lots of climbers out at Static Point on Saturday enjoying the perfect fall weather.

Hasn't voted | How was it (static)? Maybe you can post a stoke shot or two to the slabs album (unless you're thinking of a page...)?

Voted 10/10 | It was ok. Route (Lost Charms) is decent but not as good as the guidebook indicates. Pretty dirty and wandery. Definately some fun sections though. It was all crack and flake climbing so no shots to the Slab album. We TRed the crux pitch of Online on the way down. Fun 10b slab but runout, don't think I'd want to lead it. I didn't get many shots, but I'll put up a page tomorrow night on it.
Later,
