Map of Ridge Route [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Map of Ridge Route
This map shows the route I took up to the summit of Star Peak. Using Lat/Long
(nad27) GPS coordinates along the way. Click on it twice to bring the map to full size. I parked near the old Star City ruins and walked up the Queen of Sheba mine road until I could easily access the ridge and then follow it up to the 9097 foot saddle before angling over towards the summit area. Lots of brush but enough animal trails to make it a rather straightforward hike. With snow, it'd be a great ski slope.

I know you have been eyeing Star Peak for a while. You're right about the ski potential of the slopes near your route. The bowl/gulley directly below the communication site is one of my favorite runs anywhere (and I have skied more than a few)!

I'm afraid this one has just whet my appetite for more of your Nevada peaks. Thanks for all your help on getting me to try the east side.
