Off Route on Left Standard
smudge passes to the right of the roof. This was the crux of our climb. We thought we were on Left Standard (5.3) but we must have been way off route because there is no way this pitch was 5.3. I'd say it was more like 5.6 or 5.7.

Did this same variation yesterday and I agree, it felt 5.7. I believe the actual start of Left Standard is further left. There is a carin near the base.
