The ridge leading to the summit of Mt. Lyell from the Lyell - Maclure saddle. I climbed near the right side of the ridge here to avoid the snow pockets that are lower on the ridge. It seemed like the snow pockets had ice under them, so I avoided that problem. The ledges are about 6 ft high and there are lots of possible routes. I marked my route with a few ducks on the way up so that I could come down the same way. 26 October 2006
