| Mt. Bonneville - North Ridge | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Most maps indicate the high point shown here as Mt. Bonneville. However it is lower than the point to the south which is treated as Mt. Bonneville in the SP page. This ridge forming the divide between the West Fork Wallowa and East Fork Wallowa rivers provides some of the most rugged rocks in the Wallowa Mountains. Photo taken in October 2004.

Voted 10/10 | Any ideas how hard the scramble would be directly up the ridge from wallowa lake? Being so close to town and so proud looking, it seems likely that its been done. | | Posted Nov 19, 2006 12:45 am |

Hasn't voted | I don't know. The Falcon guide to the Eagle Cap Wilderness by Fred Barstad includes info on two routes up this north ridge point, which he treats at the summit of Mt. Bonneville. It sounds like difficult scrambling. I suspect with difficult route finding, there would be additional ways up. | | Posted Nov 20, 2006 5:49 pm |
